Contact Online Safety

Choose the address that best matches your request. Clear routing helps us protect confidential information, respond proportionately, and maintain an auditable record. Do not send passwords, payment-card information, private keys, government identity documents, medical records, or highly sensitive source material through ordinary email unless specifically requested through a secure process.

General and Editorial Enquiries

General enquiries: contact@onlineSafety.org

Editorial questions, interview requests, and newsroom correspondence: editorial@onlineSafety.org

We aim to review general correspondence within seven business days. We cannot guarantee a personal reply to every message.

Corrections, Complaints, and Right of Reply

Potential factual errors or material omissions: corrections@onlineSafety.org

Formal editorial complaints, fairness concerns, privacy complaints relating to published content, or appeals from a corrections decision: complaints@onlineSafety.org

Please include the article title, exact URL, the statement at issue, why it is inaccurate or unfair, the correction or remedy requested, and supporting evidence. We aim to acknowledge a specific correction request within two business days and a formal complaint within five business days. Complex matters may require additional time.

Contributions and Pitches

Contributor proposals and article pitches: contributors@onlineSafety.org

A pitch should identify the proposed subject, public-interest value, reporting plan, relevant expertise, likely sources, conflicts of interest, and whether the proposal has been sent elsewhere. Unrequested completed articles may not be reviewed. Submission does not create a commission, confidentiality obligation, or payment entitlement unless agreed in writing.

Commercial Enquiries

Advertising, sponsorship, licensing, syndication, and partnership enquiries: advertising@onlineSafety.org

Commercial enquiries are handled separately from independent editorial decisions. A commercial relationship does not guarantee editorial coverage, favorable treatment, search ranking, publication, or removal of legitimate criticism.

Privacy, Accessibility, Security, and Legal

Privacy and personal-data requests: privacy@onlineSafety.org

Accessibility feedback and alternative-format requests: accessibility@onlineSafety.org

Good-faith vulnerability reports: security@onlineSafety.org

Formal legal notices: legal@onlineSafety.org

Security researchers should read the Security and Vulnerability Disclosure page before testing or reporting. Formal legal correspondents should identify the represented party, authority to act, relevant jurisdiction, requested action, deadline, and reliable contact details.

Confidential Sources and Sensitive Material

Ordinary email may be unsuitable for confidential source communication. A person seeking to provide sensitive material should first send a minimal message to editorial@onlineSafety.org requesting a secure contact method. Do not attach the sensitive material to the initial email. We will explain available options and their limitations before receiving material.

Contacting Online Safety does not automatically create journalist-source confidentiality, legal privilege, whistleblower protection, or an agreement to publish. Those protections depend on the circumstances, applicable law, and an explicit editorial assessment.

Emergencies

Online Safety is not an emergency service. If a person faces immediate danger, abuse, self-harm risk, active cyberattack, crime in progress, or another urgent threat, contact the relevant emergency service, platform safety channel, financial institution, employer security team, or competent authority in the applicable jurisdiction.

Postal and Service Information

Online Safety does not publish a private residential address. A formal service address will be provided to courts, regulators, and verified legal representatives where required by law. Requests should be sent to legal@onlineSafety.org.
