Editorial Leadership
Founding Editor and Publisher: Arvind Hale
Arvind Hale holds primary responsibility for Online Safety’s editorial direction, publication standards, commissioning, final editorial decisions, corrections oversight, and institutional accountability. His published biography and archive should be linked from this masthead.
Accountable Editorial Functions
Online Safety is building from an independently operated publication into a public-facing specialist media platform. To avoid creating a false impression of staff size, the masthead distinguishes accountable functions from named employees. A desk or office label may describe a responsibility handled by one or more authorized people; it does not necessarily represent a separate full-time department.
Editorial Standards and Fact-Checking: Office of the Editor. Responsible for source standards, verification, article classification, conflicts, corrections, updates, and enforcement of editorial policies. Contact editorial@onlineSafety.org.
Corrections and Reader Accuracy: Corrections Desk. Receives and assesses claims of factual error, material omission, misleading presentation, and outdated information. Contact corrections@onlineSafety.org.
Complaints and Right of Reply: Reader Standards Desk. Handles formal editorial complaints, requests for review, rights of reply, and appeals under the published complaints procedure. Contact complaints@onlineSafety.org.
Contributors and Commissioning: Contributors Desk. Handles pitches, contributor verification, declarations of interest, contracts, rights, and author standards. Contact contributors@onlineSafety.org.
Accessibility: Accessibility Contact. Coordinates accessibility feedback, alternative formats, and remediation priorities. Contact accessibility@onlineSafety.org.
Privacy and Data Protection: Privacy Contact. Handles questions and rights requests concerning personal information processed by the website. Contact privacy@onlineSafety.org.
Security and Vulnerability Disclosure: Security Contact. Receives good-faith reports about technical vulnerabilities affecting systems controlled by Online Safety. Contact security@onlineSafety.org.
Commercial Partnerships and Advertising: Commercial Contact. Handles advertising, sponsorship, licensing, and partnership enquiries. Commercial personnel do not control independent editorial conclusions. Contact advertising@onlineSafety.org.
Legal Notices: Legal Contact. Receives formal legal correspondence, subject to identity and authority verification. Contact legal@onlineSafety.org.
Authors and Contributors
Permanent editorial personnel are listed on this page only when they hold a continuing accountable role. Freelance writers, guest contributors, photographers, researchers, translators, reviewers, and subject specialists are identified through article bylines and individual author pages. An author page should state the contributor’s relevant expertise, role, professional affiliations where material, correction history where appropriate, and recent work.
Online Safety does not create fictitious staff profiles, synthetic headshots presented as real people, inflated biographies, or honorary titles intended to imply an organization larger than it is. Pseudonyms may be used only for a documented safety, legal, or public-interest reason and must be approved by the responsible editor.
Masthead Changes
This masthead is updated when responsibility changes. Former staff or contributors are not silently represented as current. Material changes to editorial leadership, ownership, or publisher control are also recorded in the Editorial Transparency Report and the Publisher and Legal Information page.
