Purpose of This Log
This page provides a centralized public record of substantive corrections, clarifications, editor’s notes, retractions, and significant post-publication updates made after Online Safty’s public-launch baseline. It supplements the correction note displayed on the affected article.
Routine spelling, punctuation, formatting, broken-link, or style fixes that do not change meaning may be corrected without a log entry. A change is logged when it materially affects a fact, quotation, attribution, number, headline, image, conclusion, disclosure, fairness issue, or reader understanding.
Correction Categories
Correction: A factual or material error has been fixed.
Clarification: The original wording was not necessarily false but could reasonably mislead or lacked necessary context.
Editor’s Note: Important context, a dispute, an unresolved evidence issue, a legal development, or a process concern has been added.
Update: New verified information materially changes or advances the article after publication.
Retraction: The article or a central claim is no longer reliable enough to remain published without withdrawal.
Removal Notice: Content has been removed for a legal, safety, privacy, rights, or exceptional editorial reason. A notice is retained where lawful and appropriate.
How Entries Are Written
Each entry identifies the date, affected article, type of action, and a concise description of what changed and why. Correction notes avoid repeating harmful personal information unnecessarily. Where an error appeared in a headline, social post, newsletter, image, or syndicated version, we seek to correct those versions as well where we retain control.
An article’s “Last updated” date is not, by itself, a correction disclosure. Material changes receive a visible note.
Public Launch Baseline
6 August 2026 | Publication-wide | Launch baseline | Online Safty established this centralized public Corrections Log as part of its transition from testing and practice into public publication. Earlier legacy pages are subject to a separate retrospective review. Material corrections identified during that review will be recorded here and on the affected pages.
Current Entries
No additional material correction entries have been recorded since the public-launch baseline as of 6 August 2026.
Submit a Correction
Send correction requests to corrections@onlinesafty.org. Include the article title, URL, exact statement, proposed correction, and supporting evidence. Complaints about process or fairness may be sent to complaints@onlinesafty.org.
Retention
Corrections-log entries are ordinarily retained as part of the publication’s historical record, even if the affected article is later archived or removed. A record may be limited where continued publication would create disproportionate legal, privacy, or safety harm.
